Plan your masses
The mass schedule lets you plan all your celebrations, attach intentions to them and generate the weekly mass sheet. It also provides the data for your parish bulletin.
Create a mass
- In the menu, click Schedule → New mass.
- Date and time (required)
- Type: Sunday, Daily, Votive, Requiem, Wedding, Baptism, Ordination, Other
- Celebrant (optional), Location (optional), Notes, Duration in minutes (default: 60)
- Repeat: tick to create several masses at once. Choose the frequency (e.g. every 7 days) and the number of occurrences.
- Click Create.
Navigate the schedule
- The monthly calendar view shows masses, events and confirmed bookings.
- Navigate month to month with the arrows.
- Click on a mass to see its attached intentions, edit its details or enter a new intention directly.
A mass cannot be deleted if it has uncelebrated intentions attached. First unassign the intentions from the Intentions module.
Sync with your external calendar (iCal)
The iCal link is a live subscription URL: unlike a one-off export (.ics file), your calendar application refreshes this URL automatically at regular intervals. Every new mass created in Cathedra Manager appears in your apps with no manual action.
Common use cases
- Priest's smartphone calendar: add the URL to Google Calendar or Apple Calendar to have all masses directly on their phone.
- Parish display screen: connect the URL to a TV or screen in the sacristy via a wall-calendar app (e.g. DAKboard, Google Calendar on Chromecast).
- Parish Outlook: the admin team receives masses in their shared Outlook calendar, with no double entry.
- Read-only sharing with volunteers: volunteers see the schedule without needing access to Cathedra Manager.
How to add the link in your application
- Google Calendar: Other calendars → + → From URL → paste the iCal link.
- Apple Calendar (Mac/iPhone): File → New calendar subscription → paste the link.
- Outlook (Microsoft 365): Add calendar → Subscribe from web → paste the link.
What is included in each iCal event
- Start date and time, duration
- Mass type (Sunday, Daily, Requiem…)
- Celebrant and location (if filled in)
Intentions are not included in the iCal export: they contain personal data (names of the deceased, donors) protected under GDPR. Only authenticated Cathedra Manager members can access them.
The iCal link contains a unique token tied to your parish. Do not publish it on a public website. If you believe it has been compromised, you can regenerate it in the schedule settings (the old link becomes immediately invalid).
